Berkeley UCLA 6′ tall blonde celebrity fitness anti-sugar activist

In 7 days temperature dropped from 85 degrees to 25 degrees. Now heading back to 70 in another day or two. Leaves are falling but it does not seem like fall because it has been rather warmso far.

I probably saw this blonde as a teenager at Yogurt Park Berkeley before she discovered the evils of sugar. I had someof the same diet problems in the same era, one of the first Yogurt Park fans. She also discusses theimportance of fish oil for brain health including sports and accident victims. Her 16 year old son was nearly killed by San Fernando Valley hit and run 2 years ago.

Accidents would be reduced if Los Angeles would convert to walking, biking, and horses instead of autos. Autos are expensive and cause expensive diseases. Horses are cheap and prevent diseasesso thus shrink the economy. Diseases, wars, autos, electronics, and drugaddiction are caused by deflation that makes evil too cheap so evil proliferates. Help inflate the USA! Shrink the economy! Amish are correct! Enjoy life, sleep more, less stress.

Excellent interview by Dr. Mercola:

I was born in San Francisco, CA the best city on the planet. Raised just outside of Berkeley and consider myself to be a “high-maintenance hippie” and now live about 50% of the time in Palm Desert, CA (just outside of Palm Springs) with my teen age boys and the rest of the time ALL OVER THE PLACE…especially LA, Florida and New York City.

Q: Why did you become a Nutrition and Fitness expert?A: I never remember becoming one, I always remember being into nutrition and fitness from the movement classes I started taking as a little kid. I started studying nutrition when I was 12 (Berkeley is a hot bed for this) and started teaching dance and exercise in my teens and was one of the first personal trainers in the country – before we had a name for us!

High-intensity interval training (HIIT), or burst training, involves short (20 – 60 second) bursts at a high intensity where your body’s demand for oxygen is much higher than what it can supply. The metabolic “stress” this creates for your body to repay that oxygen debt means you burn more fat in less time. I combine burst training with weight resistance in just 15 minutes, three times a week. It’s quite a workout in very little time! Your readers can get a free workout at

The accident on September 10th left Grant with ten fractures, a crushed aorta, and a severe brain injury. That’s a prognosis most people, let alone a child, don’t survive. ” “I have a business where I can sit in the ICU with a laptop and run it. How lucky is that? I feel so fortunate that I have been able to be there,” said JJ Virgin. For nearly two months Grant has never been alone. “He is not coming out of this functional; he is coming out of this a 110 percent better than he came into it,” said JJ Virgin. His parents will do everything to make that a reality, from bringing in their own food, to tapping into some of the best medical research in the country. That is something they have access to because Grant’s mother, a celebrity fitness and nutrition expert, happens to be their friend. “He is healing way faster than anyone else of a similar caliber of an injury has and I wouldn’t expect anything less of him that is kind of how he’s always been,” Grant’s bones have nearly healed but his brain has a long way to go.”He’ll never be the same person that he was, but that doesn’t mean that the person that he will be won’t be a wonderful person.

JJ’s recent media appearances include PBS, Access Hollywood, The Rachael Ray Show, The Doctors, and The Today Show. She is a frequent blogger for, The Huffington Post, and Prevention Magazine. JJ has been interviewed in numerous publications, including FOX News, Women’s World, Health Magazine, LA Weekly, Cosmopolitan, Dr. Oz’s website and the LA Times.JJ was the nutrition expert for 2 years on the Dr. Phil Show and spent 2 seasons as co-host of TLC’s Freaky Eaters.
